Sheffield Hallam Students’ Union is a democratic not for profit organisation, ran by elected student officer (5 full time and 6 part time.) These officers are elected by cross campus ballot to represent Hallam Students. All Hallam students (who are members of the union) are eligible to run in the elections which are usually held in March.
Being a democratic organisation it is you the students that are most powerful. We as a Union are here to represent you through our Executive, Union Council and media. But it is you that make the decision through our elections, motions and AGMs.
AGM
The Annual General meeting is held within semester one and is your chance to vote and have your say on union issues and policies. All Sheffield Hallam Students can attend and submit agenda items, there must be a minimum of 2% of the membership in attendance for decisions to be binding.
The AGM receives reports from various committees and is asked to approve the Unions Annual report and audited accounts.
