Your Union Officers and Reps
Your Union Officers and Reps are elected each year in an all student vote. Their role is to get feedback from students about the Union’s and University’s services and then feed any suggested improvements through to staff at the Union and/or University.

Member Services
The Member Services Department covers all the services the Union provides that students can directly access excluding areas that trade commercially.
Operational Managers: Ben West, Activities and Development Manager Liz Hannah, Representation and Democracy Manager Rick O’Toole, Sports Union Manager Departments: Advice Centre Our Advice Centre offers students free, confidential, non-judgemental and impartial advice on a broad range of subjects such as housing, academic issues, money management and employment. The Advice Centre deals with over 8000 enquiries per year. Campaigning We are a campaigning organisation, which means we run campaigns to inspire or instigate positive change. We run many campaigns through the year including an Anti-Burglary Campaign aimed at educating students about ways to avoid becoming victims of burglary and a Sexual Health Campaign which offers free condoms and information to students. Societies We have over 50 societies that our students and graduates can join. They range from the weird and wonderful such as the Mario Kart Society and Jugglesock, to campaigning societies such as the People and Planet, Amnesty International and Stop the Traffik society. Student Reps Being a Student Rep gives students the opportunity to represent their course or faculty and give feedback to enhance the student experience. Volunteering Volunteering is a well-established, award winning activity within Hallam Students’ Union and has over 600 volunteers involved each year in our community bases volunteering projects. Sports We have over 40 sports clubs ranging from traditional sports including Hockey, Rugby and Football, to less mainstream sports such as, Korfball, Tchoukball and Ultimate Frisbee!
