WHAT EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS WILL I BRING TO THE ROLE?
I believe I have demonstrated the aforementioned skills well and consequently there has been good progress on both the priorities I outlined – i.e. participation has increased with a string of quorate meetings – something which is unusual in the recent past. I believe we have also been more effective in supporting students through effective advice and support. I am standing again because I believe that I can build on these outcomes and ensure an even greater level of success. I have the confidence that the abilities and skills I have brought to bear can be further developed, with experience, and even wider participation can be achieved to enhance the voice of the student body still further. I have enjoyed the challenges this year and feel I have the confidence and expertise to ensure the Union is an even more effective force within the university to help fulfil the ambitions, needs and desires of all students.
IN THIS ROLE I WILL ACHIEVE FOR STUDENTS
The key issues I highlighted last year were: •Widening participation within the union •Promoting the help and advice the union can offer students •Making sure the union works for everybody Although we have made good progress on these matters, especially in ensuring meetings are well attended with good debates, there is still more work to do to ensure that ALL students have a voice that can be heard. After this year’s experience I now feel inspired to further promote the potential of the Union as a force for good in representing and developing the needs of all students. If successfully re-elected, I will use my energy and build on the expertise developed this year to further develop the influence of the Union for the benefit of the student body.
STUDENTS SHOULD VOTE FOR ME BECAUSE: 60% of the time, it works every time!
