Elections Pledge:
As a second year student, a course rep and an active member of student union societies I believe I have the experience needed to represent my fellow students. I have also represented Hallam students as a delegate to NUS Conference for the past two years. From next year Hallam will be charging fees of £8500. We must support future students by ensuring our university works to widen participation. Education should be open to everyone and fees should not be a barrier to this. Even before the fees increase many students already face huge financial difficulties. I will campaign both locally and nationally to ensure our students are getting the best from their time at university. I will support the Education Officer and work on relevant Union campaigns to engage with as many students as possible. Our Students Union should be the first place a student goes for support and advice. I want every student to know that their union is here to support them.
Slogan:
I will put Hallam students first
What does representation mean to you?
Representation means having someone who will fight for your rights, who will channel your feelings and your views and campaign on your behalf. It is the responsibility of connecting those that make the decisions with the views of the average student on the street. Representation is making sure that those in charge know what people want.
What would you see as the main priority if you were elected?
I believe the main job of the union is to represent and support its students. Whether it is on matters of finance, timetabling, exams or anything else, I want all students to feel they have the full support of their union.
I stand out as a elected representative because…….
I truly care about the students of Sheffield Hallam University. Electing me will mean you are represented by someone who really does have your interests at heart. I will be entirely focused on putting across your views and promoting your interests. This is YOUR union and I will make sure that YOUR voice is heard.
