A Welcome to our Summer Students

Goating & Goaling

Today we’ve been out and about talking to the summer school students which have recently arrived at SHU.

We’ve been asking the students what they have liked and disliked about their experience here so far, and we’ve had some interesting feedback!

They told us that they are loving the summer trips, the opportunity to experience a different culture and environment, plus the once in a life time opportunity to see the Olympic Torch Relay. Many students also mentioned what a high standard their accommodation was.

Some students said they would like more chances to meet home students while they are here.  Others expressed disappointment about the weather, concerns about the quality of food in the retail outlets at the university, and the cost of public transport.

While the majority seem to be enjoying their learning experience some summer students expressed concerns about lectures starting at 9 o’clock in the morning and exams being bunched together.

We’ll be around campus all summer so come and speak to us and tell us about your experiences at Hallam, or drop us an email: www.hallamunion.org/your-officers
