NEXT REP NEWSLETTER – COMING OCTOBER 2011
Here you can read the Student Reps Newsletter, keeping you up to date with the successes our student reps have had and the support and opportunities available to you as a student rep.
If you want to tell everyone about a great idea you have done as a student rep e-mail nicky.harris@shu.ac.uk and we will get it included in the newsletter and on the website!
I hope you are well and that your exams and assignments aren’t causing you too much stress.
Although it may be a busy time for you with your studies, don’t forget to keep up your Course Rep role and get as much feedback as possible from your fellow students.
Would you like any more support with your role? Or just want to catch-up with me on Rep stuff? Feel free to email me at nicky.harris@shu.ac.uk or give me a call on 01142254147.
The Student Rep web pages also have lots of useful information to support you in your role. You can find them here: http://hallamunion.org/studentreps/course-rep-training/
Good luck for the rest of the term!
From Nicky Harris
This survey is now live and available for all level 4 and 5 Undergraduate UK students to complete. You have until the end of May to do so.
You can complete the survey in Shuspace or from an e-mail invitation (and reminders) you will receive.
Information about all surveys is available online and you can find this information easily by searching for ‘university feedback’ in Shuspace.
We and the University really value your opinion and the more students who respond, the more representative the results will be – so please fill it in.
The Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey (PTES) is now open for all postgraduates on taught course to complete. It is an opportunity for postgraduates to tell the University about their experience, what they have enjoyed and what they think can be improved. Click here for more information.
Would you like to help improve the student experience at Hallam? Would you like to be part of a panel that regularly gives feedback to the highest levels in the University in a variety of interesting, informal and non-time consuming ways? Then contact at nicky.harris@shu.ac.uk for more information asap.
Fancy earning ten quid just for giving your opinion? We’re looking for Hallam students to take part in focus groups taking place this month. It’s quick, simple, and you can bring a friend with you.
If you would like to take part simply email Ben at b.neasmith@shu.ac.uk and he’ll explain the details
Want to see any issues raised in your area of the University? Want to see good practice too? External Examiners visit the University to look at your work and your courses/modules to determine how good quality they are. You can find all the external examiner reports on your Student Rep Blackboard site. Alternatively, you can request them from nicky.harris@shu.ac.uk. I promise they are incredibly interesting to read and will be very useful to your role as a Rep!
We are holding a Bargain Bazaar here at the HUBS on Friday the 20th May at 12pm! For the sale we need your second hand goods including clothes, books, jewellery, crockery and cutlery.
