Remember
The most important part of your role as a Course Rep is to gather representative feedback from the students on your course about their experience.
Sometimes a student may come to you with a personal problem that isn’t representative – Don’t panic!
As a Course Rep you are not expected to advise a fellow student or take their problems on yourself. Your role is to be able to point them in the direction of those who can help and are qualified to do so e.g. Student & Learning Services or the Students’ Union Advice Centre. If you are unsure of what to do in these situations, feel free to contact studentreps@shu.ac.uk for some guidance.
