Q. How do I become a Course Rep?
A. To become a Rep for your course, you will need to speak to your Course Leader who is responsible for electing Reps. They will tell you if there are any vacancies.
Q. I’ve been elected as Rep for my course, how do I register?
A. You will need to register online. You can either ask your Course Leader for the web link or email studentreps@shu.ac.uk stating your name, that you have been elected as a rep and course and we will send it to you.
Q. I’ve registered as a Course Rep but haven’t heard anything since.
A. Please email your name, Student ID number and student email address to studentreps@shu.ac.uk. It may be that these were entered incorrectly online.
Q. When/where are the Course Rep training sessions?
A. Up to date dates/times/locations for training can be found at: http://hallamunion.org/studentreps/training These will also be on your Faculties Student Reps Blackboard site, as the initial training sessions are being done within your Faculties
Q. I haven’t been to a training session yet – how can I get a place on one?
A. Visit http://hallamunion.org/studentreps/course-rep-training/ and find an upcoming adtional training session you can attend. Then email studentreps@shu.ac.uk to confirm your attendance.
Q. When’s my next Course meeting?
A. You should contact your Course Leader or Course Administrator as they will have the details of your next meeting.
Q. How can I contact my fellow students?
A. Speak to your Course Leader or Course Administrator for advice on contacting your fellow students. You can also refer back to the training slides on Blackboard for more ideas or visit ‘getting feedback’
Q. Can I get a questionnaire printed?
A. You can have a questionnaire printed to hand out for your course providing you give at least 24 hours notice (not including weekends). If you have an electronic copy, email it to studentreps@shu.ac.uk again including your name, telephone number and copies wanted.
Q. I’ve got an issue on my course that I need advice on.
A. Please email studentreps@shu.ac.uk . Alternatively you can speak to Jessica Goldstone, Education Officer if they are around in the HUBS.
Q. I want to get more involved as a Rep.
A. That’s great! You can find details of other activities you can get involved in on the Student Rep website.
Q. How can I become a Faculty Rep?
A. There are a number of Faculty Rep positions available for 2012/13. Please email studentreps@shu.ac.uk expressing your interest and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
Q. When/where is my next Faculty Rep meeting?
A. E-mail studentreps@shu.ac.uk if you are unsure of when/where your next meeting is. You should also receive an email from the secretary of the committee you are on.
