CPD Online to be made available free to new Allied Health Professionals graduates from 31st May 2013

From the 31st May as part of the university’s  commitment to supporting lifelong learning CPD Online will be offered free for 12 months to new graduates from pre-registration courses in the Department of Allied Health Professionals (AHP).

CPD Online is a dedicated online learning environment which provides information to facilitate transition into the workplace, support preceptorship activity (enhancing employability) and opportunities to engage in and evidence Continuing Professional Development (CPD)activity to help meet professional body and statutory requirements. In addition graduates will have access to the pebblePad personal learning space which can be used to document and record learning and development and evidence CPD. Thus CPD Online can be used for updating and refreshing your knowledge at a time, place and pace to suit you.

There are separate CPD Online sites for the different AHP groups – Radiotherapy & Oncology, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Diagnostic Imaging, Operating Department Practice & Paramedic Practice. In addition, all graduates will be enrolled on the CPD End of Life Care site as this crosses over into all arenas.

Help! Sheffield City Council need some ideas!

The UK needs to look long and hard at the way it cares for its vulnerable people – such as frail older people, people with dementia, disabilities and mental health problems. With the way the population is changing, soon there will be so many people who need regular care and support that we simply won’t be able to care for them in the way that we currently do.
