Chairperson – Phil Bates

This position is responsible for the smooth running of Stage services Executive committee and the committee meetings as well as maintaining constitutional policy.

What are you most looking forward to this year whilst being on the Stage Services Committee? Taking part in a whole range of events, meeting loads of great people, and working with the committee and all the volunteers to make stage services great!

What do you want to achieve by being on the Stage Services Committee 2011/12? Getting the new volunteers up to speed and making the committee better than ever !

This position is responsible for the smooth running of the Stage Services Executive committee and the committee meetings by supporting the chairperson.

Secretary – Ezra Morris

This position is responsible for the administration of the committee and ensuring the smooth running of the Executive committee and meetings by supporting the chair.

Course Title: BEng Electronic Engineering

Hobbies and Interests: Computers, “anything with a plug on the end”, scuba diving.

What are you most looking forward to this year whilst being on the Stage Services Committee? Continuing to improve my technical knowledge.

What do you want to achieve by being on the Stage Services Committee 2011/12? Keep everything running smoothly and in a timely manner in the committee, and making new volunteers feel welcome.

Sounds Executive – Matt Brazier

The Sounds Executive is responsible for co-ordinating the sounds equipment, maintenance and training in conjunction with the Technical Services Co-ordinator and senior crew.

Course Title: MComp Computer and Information Security

Year of Study: 2

Hobbies and Interests: Formula 1, flying and music.

What are you most looking forward to this year whilst being on the Stage Services Committee? Having the ability to work a wider range of events and being involved with decision making while setting up events.

What do you want to achieve by being on the Stage Services Committee 2011/12? Learning more areas of stage tech and help educate others with my own knowledge.

Lights Executive – James Finch

The Lights Executive is responsible for co-ordinating the lighting equipment, maintenance and training in conjunction with the Technical Services Co-ordinator and senior crew.

Course Title: Mechanical Engineering

Hobbies and Interests: Playing badminton, Playstation, scouting and of course Stage Services! 

What are you most looking forward to this year whilst being on the Stage Services Committee? Learning how the committee functions and what its responsibilities are.

What do you want to achieve by being on the Stage Services Committee 2011/12? Trying to get events at the hubs back on track!

Visuals Executive – Simon Taylor

The Visuals Executive is responsible for co-ordinating the visuals equipment, maintenance and training in conjunction with the Technical Services Co-ordinator and senior crew.

What are you most looking forward to this year whilst being on the Stage Services Committee? Learning new skills and building on existing knowledge.

What do you want to achieve by being on the Stage Services Committee 2011/12? I want to become a more well rounded techie and build on my team skills.

Ents/Tech Liaison Officer – Vacant

This position maintains relations and passes information between the Entertainments Committee and the Stage Service Committee

Training Officer – Lauren Sanders

The Training Officer is responsible for organising training to improve the skills and knowledge of members.

Course Title: MSc International Events and Conference Management

Hobbies and Interests: Singing, lighting design, horseriding, exploring new places, writing

What are you most looking forward to this year whilst being on the Stage Services Committee? I am looking forward to new challenges in the coming year, new events and new ways that we can make our union look and sound better.

What do you want to achieve by being on the Stage Services Committee 2011/12? Being elected as the training executive, my main priority is to ensure all our volunteers are trained to a level where they are competent and can develop in areas that they want whether its lighting, sound or visuals. I would also aim to recruit more volunteers to be involved in the union over the coming year and let them experience being part of the team.

What are you most looking forward to this year whilst being on the Stage Services Committee? I am looking forward to seeing how the different roles will be carried out in the committee. I am also looking forward to helping out team members should they seek help and advice.

What do you want to achieve by being on the Stage Services Committee 2011/12? As Equal Opportunities Officer I will do my best to make sure that everyone gets a fair chance during their time at Stage Services. I will offer support to team members who feel that they are being left out. Together let’s stop discrimination.
