Snow Sports

SHU Snow combines skiing and snowboarding with an unbeatable social scene, by far the biggest club at Sheffield Hallam, we welcome anybody that enjoys snow sports from complete beginners to experienced riders! If you’re into racing or freestyle competitions, we compete all over the country and in Europe, with some pretty awesome results! And with a social calendar that’s crammed all year round, there’s always something going on when you’re with SHU Snow. Weekly trips to Sheffield Ski Village and regular visits to the indoor real snow slope at Castleford ensure our members never go too long without their snow fix. Getting Started

Participating in Snow Sports with SHU Snow is easy! When you join SHU Snow, we ensure you get the best price on lesson packages with our friends at Sheffield Ski Village. Trips

We run many trips besides the usual weekly Ski Village excursion. From competing at BUDS in Edinburgh to crossing the channel for our annual holiday, SHU Snow trips are always unforgettable. On average we take over 130 of our members abroad to the best resorts across Europe and thanks to our strong relationship with the leading student tour operators, we ensure our members get the very best deals. We even offer our members the chance to head out and maybe even compete in the British Universities Alpine Championships, held in a leading European resort every April. Competitions

We compete in both indoor and dryslope competition, beginning our competitive year at BUDS in Edinburgh. We also enter the Kings northern league and have made it to the national finals on several occasions, last year placing 8th in the country! We also compete at BUiSC, the British Universities Indoor Snow sport Championships held in Castleford. In more recent years we’ve also competed at the BUSC Main Event, where the British University Championships are! In addition to these competitions, we hold the ‘Sheffield Freeze’ event which is a great way to try out competing for the first time! The pinnacle of the competitive year comes at Winter Varsity when we go head to head with our closest rivals, University of Sheffield!
