GAC stands for ‘Gaelic Athletic Club’. Gaelic Football is a mixture of Basketball, Rugby and Football. Sheffield Hallam Gaelic Football Club competes in Men’s and Woman’s leagues within the North of England and the Midlands. Training twice a week new members are always welcome at any level of experience. The club has a very friendly and sociable atmosphere and would be suited to those who enjoy playing sport on a sociable level looking to join a welcoming club and take up something new at university.

As Gaelic football is played on grass, football boots are a good idea but not essential.
All members must purchase a Team Hallam membership of £85, which is your membership for the whole year. This is paid at any of the Reception desks at the two Sport Hallam facilities. There is no additional cost to join this club. Once paid, please remember to register via the Sports Union Home Page to make your payment valid!
Once a year the men’s team take part in both a Gaelic Football and Hurling competition, both of which are held in Birmingham. The trip is a lot of fun, but is taken seriously within the club. It involves two nights away and a social event at the end to celebrate.
