Trips

(Almost) every Sunday we go on a daywalk in the Peak District which is a 20/30min bus or train ride from the center of Sheffield, and roughly every 3 weeks we go on a weekend trip to some other place in the UK.

For our weekend trips, we travel to such places as North Wales, South Wales, the Lake District, North Yorkshire Moors, Yorkshire Dales, The New Forest, Northumberland and Scotland.

In June 2009 we went on week long trip to the magnificent mountains of Alt de Sella in Spain, where we did walking, climbing, via ferrata, mountain biking and sea kayaking as well as having a great relaxing time in the sun.

But of course we don’t just go walking. After our weekly meetings (traditionally held in a class room on Tuesday night) we always go for a pint (or two) to one of the local pubs.
Once every 3 to 4 weeks we also organize a social event, such as 10-pin bowling, pub golf, laser quest, go-karting, Alton Towers, the always popular Brewery Tour and some very interesting pub crawls.

Another of our yearly highlights is the Christmas Dinner, where we not only gather for some good food and drink, but also honour and award members that have done something outstanding, memorable, or just plain hilarious.

We meet every Tuesday during term at 7.30pm in room 924, Owen Building (main building @ City Campus), so feel free to come along! Subject to change contact us for more details.
