If you would like to join the BME, Disabled or Women’s Liberation Groups then email Carl Hawkes at uuswelfare@shu.ac.uk or why not set up your own group?
Below are some details about the LGBT+ group and how to join.
The group is a place where self-defining LGBT+ students can meet similar people to socialise and campaign around the issues that affect the LGBT+ community, whilst making sure the LGBT+ students at Hallam are represented by their Union.
The group meets socially once a week, and the LGBT+ representative committee meets every Tuesday, 6.30pm-8pm to discuss campaigns and issues that affect the group and its members. They meet in the reception area of Hallam Union.
The LGBT+ Committee is here for you. We run socials, campaign for your rights and offer welfare support throughout the year.
Every Tuesday we run a drinks social with the University of Sheffield’s LGBT+, 8pm-11pm, Lions Lair (Burgess Street, next to Embrace). Come and meet us! We’re a friendly bunch.
We also run various other socials, including alcohol-free events. Join this group via Facebook to get updates.
Keep an eye out for updates about our Welcome Week activities and the new Hallam LGBT+ night!
