Societies

As the Comedy Society, we hope to bring a bit of humour into stressful student lives. Our main focus is improvisational comedy, but we also include stand-up and sketches, with the aim of putting on several shows over the year. We play fun games, act out short sketches and improvise songs, where anything could happen! No acting experience is required, we make most of it up as we go along!

We work closely with a performing troupe, “The Antics”, who have held shows at The HUBS, the Library Theatre, the Sheffield Student Comedy Festival, The Lescar, Harry’s, and have even performed at Edinburgh Fringe – Twice!

If you like performing without learning a script, or performing and learning a script (or even writing one), or you’re just a lone wolf in search of a pack (a stand-up looking for some people to work on his material with), then this is the society for you.

Plus, we have some great socials. Come along even if you just want a laugh, this society is for people who simply enjoy comedy as well!
