The Computer Society aims to bring together students from Sheffield Hallam University who have an interest in Computers, you DO NOT need to be on a Computing course. We intend to facilitate a peer to peer exchange of skills and knowledge and support student projects.
Over the 2011/12 academic year the society will facilitating tons of exciting activities:
Exciting guest lectures
Discussion groups
Live demonstrations
Day trips to places like Bletchley Park
Fun Social events such as Laser Quest
Student Projects
Alongside these exciting ideas, we are looking for members to come up with their own projects that we will support, the first project is likely to be creating an outstanding website for the society! Web design doesn’t take your fancy? Then bring us your ideas for your own exciting computer project.
Meetings will take place on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month from 6pm to 8pm at the GIST Lab (attached to Showroom Workstation, across from the Hubs). Please check the society website or the GIST Hub calendar for dates, as we will only be meeting during University term time.
