African Caribbean Society

Hello and Welcome to Sheffield Hallam’s African Caribbean Society.

“Do you have to be African or Caribbean to be in the society or get involved?” NO!

The ACS is a society for people of all nations to come together and to gain an understanding on the achievements, struggles, inventions, and movements of African and Caribbean people because as most of you know there is more to our culture than just slavery.

Our society aims to bring tasteful, cultural and musical events.  Central to our philosophy we strive to bring a sense of community/ togetherness where we can welcome people from different walks of life.  We host monthly events both educational and social, for example Liverpool slavery museum, social and cultural events and role model seminars.

The society is about sharing experiences, positively exploring our differences and understanding the many cultures that make up our societies.  Together we create a strong future, but lets get together and show the world what we can do now!

We aim to provide members with the opportunity to socialise with all kinds of people whilst learning new valuable skills.  You are guaranteed to get involved with something during the year to enhance your C.V and transferable skills. Not forgetting the amount of fun awaiting you when you get involved with the society.

“We are the PROCESS, OF PROGRESS, TILL PROGRESSION!!!”
