So what are societies all about then? Well basically they can offer you loads of extra-curricular activities that will add that extra zing to your student experience whilst studying at Sheffield Hallam University.

Hallam Union has over 50 different societies to choose from… from swing dance to cheerleading, contributing to a creative writing magazine or simply meeting up with other students who share your interest in computer games, anime, rock music, tea… All societies are a great way to meet new people, to get involved in an activity you love, to develop your skills and a great opportunity to try something completely new.

Hallam Union also gives you the chance to create new societies if a group for what you are interested in doesn’t already exist. Sheffield Hallam University boasts masses of different cultural, sporting, media, religious, academic and social students so getting students interested in your own society wouldn’t prove problematic. So it’s your chance to meet new and like-minded people and do cool stuff!
