Student Assembly

So what is Student Assembly?

Student Assembly is an open meeting that all SHU students can attend, this gives students the chance to draw attention to certain issues. There is no need to do this formally, students can just turn up and raise their point.

At the Assembly there will be an Assembly Chair who is responsible for ensuring everyone has equal say in the meeting. There will also be two Assembly Reps who are responsible for taking the points raised at the Assembly to Union Council which will make any appropriate decisions in relation to the points raised.

What does Assembly actually do?

It gives any SHU student the opportunity to have their say on any issue that they may feel strongly about.  Any issues raised will be taken to  Union Council for appropriate actions/decisions to be made.

When is the Student Assembly?

Student Assembly is held at points throughout the year at both campuses. As soon as we have the dates set we shall update them here and on the what’s on guide on the home page.
