Have your say about what happens in your area. Whether you’ve lived in the City Centre for 5 minutes or 5o years, you are a member of the community and as such you can get involved in your local community groups…

Sheffield City Centre Residents Action Group

The  Sheffield City Centre Residents Action Group is an open meeting to all residents living in the City Centre. They meet on the 2nd Tuesday of each Month at The Blind Institute on Mapin Street, from 6:30pm-8pm. 

Central Community Assembly

The Central Community Assembly is an open meeting for people living in the following areas:

• Sharrow
• Broomhall
• Broomhill
• Part of Endcliffe
• Crookesmoor
• Upperthorpe
• Netherthorpe
• Kelham Island
• Langsett
• Walkley
• Hillsborough
• Wisewood
• Wadsley
• Winn Gardens

All the local Councillors for these areas are invited to the meetings and members of the public can ask questions and submit petitions about issues concerning them in the areas they live.
The Community Assemblies also have a discretionary budget which they have to spend on the following:

• Things for young people to do
• Education, jobs and incomes
• The environment
• Good shops and local services
• Traffic and parking
• Community support and people getting on together
• Health
• Community Safety

The amount of money spent on each category is decided through consultation with the community.

The next Central Community Assembly meeting is;
Thursday 22nd March from 6pm-9pm at the Quaker Meeting House, St James Street.
