Campaigns

Run your own campaign!

Is there an issue that you think is negatively effecting Hallam students? Want to do something about it? You will have support from staff and Officers and there’s loads of free training and resources you can access.

How to go about running your own campaign:

Step 1 – contact Serena, the Campaigns Co-ordinator to let her know what you’re planning

Step 2 – work through the Campaigns Toolkit, which helps you through every stage of running a campaign and includes a helpful planner template and a template agenda for meetings.

Step 3… err that’s it actually, it’s as simple as that!

For more information or to discuss your ideas email uuscampaigns@shu.ac.uk or call 0114 225 3303.

Information messaging campaigns

This will give you experince of writing about key messages for students to be published on the Student Life pages of our website. You can learn how to up load your contributions and will be credited for any work you do. Last year a couple of  Hallam students, Joanne and Noelle wrote some fantastic info about health eating, they both thought this was an important message to get out to students.
You could also run some information stalls to give out leaflets about your topic. We have a very successful sexual health info messaging project, where volunteers have built a partnership with a local sexual health service to offer free condoms, information and STI screenings to students.
So is there something you think students should know about? Possible examples are, drugs awareness; eating disorders; safe drinking; mental health issues.
